Honorary President

The Founder! Mr. Grégoire Azar, the Founder, is a distinguished banking executive and market strategist, recognized as one of Lebanon's leading pioneers in Technical Analysis. With more than 35 years of experience in commercial and investment banking, he has significantly contributed to improving analytical precision, promoting market education, and elevating professional standards in Lebanon's financial industry. Educated in Economics in Nantes, France, Mr. Azar started his career in the French banking sector, working for 18 years at top institutions such as Banque de l’Union Européenne, Al Saudi Bank, SNBSL, and Banque Banorabe in Paris. In this period, he gained significant experience as Chief Dealer/Treasurer and Fund Manager and became an active member of AFATE (Association Française des Analystes Techniques). His responsibilities included conducting technical research and chart analysis across major asset classes like currencies, equities, and commodities, with a focus on analyzing price trends and forecasting market movements accurately. In 1998, Mr. Azar rejoined Lebanon's BLOM Bank, where he led the International Department and Financial Markets Division until 2011. His leadership influenced the bank’s global trading activities, investment strategies, and cross-border financial planning. Throughout this time, he gained recognition both nationally as a skilled practitioner and as a mentor who played a key role in developing local Technical Analysis expertise. He conducted numerous open and internal training sessions for bankers, asset managers, private banking teams, traders, and portfolio strategists. Additionally, he organized and frequently led seminars, university conferences, and market presentations, greatly contributing to the institutional adoption of Technical Analysis in Lebanon. In 2010, Mr. Azar founded the Lebanese Society of Technical Analysts (LSTA), which became a Developing Society within the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA) in the United States. Through the LSTA, he aimed to foster a culture of disciplined, research-driven market analysis and to demonstrate that Technical Analysis is an essential “must” for traders, dealers, and investors. Working closely with the École Supérieure des Affaires (ESA), he helped prepare candidates for the globally recognized CFTe (Certificate of Financial Technician) exams, further aligning local financial professionals with international standards. Today, as a Consulting Professor, Mr. Azar continues to dedicate himself to shaping the next generation of market professionals. He is one of the region’s most influential advocates for combining Fundamental Analysis with Technical insights, promoting a comprehensive approach that enhances market understanding, improves decision-making, and empowers investors amid an increasingly complex financial landscape.

Dr. Mohamad Abou El Hassan

President

Dr. Mohamad Abou El Hassan, a prominent supporter of Technical Analysis in Lebanon, currently serves as President of the Lebanese Society of Technical Analysts (LSTA). He aims to raise standards in Technical Analysis, mentor CFTe candidates, and build partnerships with academic and professional institutions. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Economics and International Business from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, an Executive Master’s in Financial Management from SDA Bocconi and ESA, two master’s degrees in banking from Saint Joseph University, and specialized certifications from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (UK). Since 2010, Dr. Abou El Hassan has been occupying his role in the banking industry as a Banking Executive, focusing on developing operational strategies, coordinating regulatory compliance, overseeing AML/CFT procedures, and establishing standardized policies. His leadership combines operational excellence with institutional resilience, maintaining sustainable performance despite increasing complexities in the financial sector. Alongside his executive responsibilities, he is deeply involved in academia and research. He teaches and supervises MBA and DBA students at institutions such as Geneva Business School and Haigazian University, advising programs in Banking, Finance, and Business Administration. His academic work complements his professional experience, grounding his teaching in both practical relevance and thorough inquiry. Dr. Abou El Hassan is also committed to professional development and Technical Analysis education. He has served as Advisor to the Board and Program Manager at the Technical Analysis Institute in Larnaca, delivering training in Technical Analysis, investment strategies, and financial markets. His expertise extends to research supervision, executive education, and capacity-building initiatives across the financial ecosystem.

Marguerite Choueiry Bazerli

Marguerite Choueiry Bazerli, Executive Director at JAR Capital DIFC (LTD), has built her career on a strong foundation of financial expertise inspired early on by her father, a seasoned banker and trader. Her exposure to market dynamics grew into a lifelong passion, strengthened by advanced degrees in economics, banking, and finance that shaped her professional journey in wealth advisory. She started her career at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in 1995, gaining diverse experience across banking functions before leading the Securities Settlement Desk. She later joined Byblos Bank Group SAL, where she spent 15 years and played a key role in founding the Private Banking Department. During this time, she built a reputation for strategic thinking, innovation, and client trust, supported by certifications from international financial institutes. In 2018, Marguerite moved into Swiss private banking with Crédit Agricole CIB Indosuez, then joined Credit Suisse. After UBS acquired Credit Suisse, she shifted to external asset management and joined JAR Capital, a DFSA-regulated firm with Swiss roots. Today, she serves clients across Switzerland, Monaco, and the UAE, providing discretionary portfolio management and tailored solutions across real estate, venture capital, and private equity. Alongside her client advisory work, Marguerite is deeply committed to mentorship and industry growth. She previously served as President of the Lebanese Society of Technical Analysis, sits on influential advisory boards, contributes to wealth-management education programs, and advocates for women in finance. She is also active in social impact and conflict-resolution initiatives, applying a human-centered approach to all her professional and community activities.

Georges E. Homsi has over 25 years of experience in investment strategy, managing financial institutions, and Technical Analysis, establishing himself as a key figure in Lebanon’s financial sector. As a founding member of the Lebanese Society of Technical Analysts Association (LSTA), he has played a vital role in shaping the growth and standards of Technical Analysis in Lebanon. His career includes key roles at major financial institutions like ABN AMRO and Banque BEMO, before he joined Credit Libanais. There, he currently leads the Financial Institutions Department. In this role, he also participates as a voting member of the FI Committee, helping make strategic choices and managing institutional relationships. Georges previously led the Private Banking & Wealth Management division at Credit Libanais, where he developed an integrated automated investment system that combines both Fundamental and Technical Analysis. His responsibilities included managing high-net-worth portfolios, maintaining global banking relationships with over 75 institutions, and contributing to the bank’s long-term financial strategy. Recognized as a regional expert on financial markets and Technical Analysis, he continues to shape the investment landscape through thought leadership and the promotion of best practices. His work remains essential in advancing market structure, advisory standards, and professional growth within Lebanon’s financial and investment community.

Wael has over seventeen years of distinguished experience in portfolio management and the banking industry, establishing himself as a trusted investment advisor with a deep understanding of global markets and client-focused financial strategies. In his current role as Senior Investment Counselor at Citibank UAE, he advises Citi Private Clients on sophisticated investment solutions, managing the full range of wealth-management activities from portfolio design and strategic asset allocation to ongoing performance reviews and disciplined rebalancing. A commitment to long-term value creation, risk awareness, and personalized financial planning for high-net-worth individuals and families guides his work. Before joining Citibank, Wael built a significant part of his career at Banque Libano‑Française, where he served clients in Lebanon and Geneva. His responsibilities included investment advice, corporate FX derivatives, and market analysis based on Technical Analysis, showing a versatile understanding of both institutional and private-client needs. Throughout these roles, he consistently demonstrated the ability to manage complex portfolios, interpret global macroeconomic trends, and turn analytical insights into practical recommendations. Academically and professionally, Wael’s credentials demonstrate depth and discipline. He holds an MBA from Lebanese American University. He is both a CFA charterholder from the CFA Institute and a CFTe (Certified Financial Technician) certified by the International Federation of Technical Analysts. These qualifications highlight his expertise in investment theory, financial modeling, and market behavior analysis, which shape his advisory approach and strengthen his reputation within the global investment community. Ziad Ghattas

Ziad Ghattas is an experienced senior financial services executive with over 22 years of expertise in banking, wealth management, private banking, and financial markets throughout the Middle East and Australia. He currently serves as Co-CEO of Credit Financier Invest s.a.l. (CFI), where he manages operations, financial activities, and regulatory compliance. His leadership has played a key role in improving governance, increasing operational efficiency, and fostering sustainable profitability. Before joining CFI, Ziad held a senior leadership role at Société Générale de Banque au Liban (SGBL), where he oversaw four regional branches. His tenure was characterized by notable improvements in customer satisfaction, business growth, and overall operational performance, strengthening the bank’s retail and corporate service capabilities. His international experience includes senior private banking roles at Julius Baer in Dubai and Qatar Islamic Bank in Doha, where he advised high-net-worth clients and managed complex portfolio needs. He also gained extensive exposure to global market operations through positions at ADS Securities in Abu Dhabi and Commonwealth Securities in Sydney, collaborating with sophisticated FX, derivatives, and equities traders to manage risk, execute trades, and grow client portfolios. Ziad has developed strong expertise in delivering customized investment strategies across equities, fixed income, structured products, Sukuks, and alternative investments. He holds a Master of Applied Finance (Honor Roll) and a Post-Graduate Degree in Banking & Finance, complemented by international certifications including the CISI Level 3 in Combating Financial Crime and several Australian Stock Exchange accreditations.
