The Founder! Mr. Grégoire Azar, the Founder, is a distinguished banking executive and market strategist, recognized as one of Lebanon's leading pioneers in Technical Analysis. With more than 35 years of experience in commercial and investment banking, he has significantly contributed to improving analytical precision, promoting market education, and elevating professional standards in Lebanon's financial industry. Educated in Economics in Nantes, France, Mr. Azar started his career in the French banking sector, working for 18 years at top institutions such as Banque de l’Union Européenne, Al Saudi Bank, SNBSL, and Banque Banorabe in Paris. In this period, he gained significant experience as Chief Dealer/Treasurer and Fund Manager and became an active member of AFATE (Association Française des Analystes Techniques). His responsibilities included conducting technical research and chart analysis across major asset classes like currencies, equities, and commodities, with a focus on analyzing price trends and forecasting market movements accurately. In 1998, Mr. Azar rejoined Lebanon's BLOM Bank, where he led the International Department and Financial Markets Division until 2011. His leadership influenced the bank’s global trading activities, investment strategies, and cross-border financial planning. Throughout this time, he gained recognition both nationally as a skilled practitioner and as a mentor who played a key role in developing local Technical Analysis expertise. He conducted numerous open and internal training sessions for bankers, asset managers, private banking teams, traders, and portfolio strategists. Additionally, he organized and frequently led seminars, university conferences, and market presentations, greatly contributing to the institutional adoption of Technical Analysis in Lebanon. In 2010, Mr. Azar founded the Lebanese Society of Technical Analysts (LSTA), which became a Developing Society within the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA) in the United States. Through the LSTA, he aimed to foster a culture of disciplined, research-driven market analysis and to demonstrate that Technical Analysis is an essential “must” for traders, dealers, and investors. Working closely with the École Supérieure des Affaires (ESA), he helped prepare candidates for the globally recognized CFTe (Certificate of Financial Technician) exams, further aligning local financial professionals with international standards. Today, as a Consulting Professor, Mr. Azar continues to dedicate himself to shaping the next generation of market professionals. He is one of the region’s most influential advocates for combining Fundamental Analysis with Technical insights, promoting a comprehensive approach that enhances market understanding, improves decision-making, and empowers investors amid an increasingly complex financial landscape.
